GLENDALE, Ariz. — If you haven't already been counting down the days until Kyler Murray's return for the Arizona Cardinals, now is the time to start.
The Arizona Cardinals lost their fifth straight game, 31-24, to the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday at State Farm Stadium in Glendale.
That loss drops the Cardinals' record to 1-7 and makes them the current frontrunners for the #1 overall pick in next year's NFL Draft, according to Tankathon.
The Cardinals jumped out to the lead against the Ravens on a 1-yard rush by quarterback Joshua Dobbs in the first quarter, but that would be short-lived as the Ravens would answer before the end of the first quarter when Lamar Jackson found tight end (and Scottsdale native) Mark Andrews for a five-yard touchdown.
There was a controversial moment in the second quarter. The Cardinals were trying to convert on fourth down and one yard to go when Dobbs handed the ball off to Emari Demarcado, who appeared to go down at the first-down marker.
However, a ref appeared to move the ball backward after the initial spot and the Cardinals turned the ball over on downs.
The Ravens would add touchdowns in each of the second and third quarters and then a field goal in the fourth to pad their lead.
But the Cardinals would score in the second half for the first time in three weeks when tight end Trey McBride was pushed by nearly the entire offense into the endzone!
Dobbs would run in for a two-point conversion to pull the Cardinals within nine points.
The Ravens would add another touchdown on a one-yard rush by Gus Edwards to go up 31-15.
The Cardinals would answer as Marquise 'Hollywood' Brown had a 1-yard touchdown catch against his former team, to make it 31-21.
The Cardinals would then kick their first successful onside kick since 2021, which was followed by a 47-yard Matt Prater field goal, but it would not be enough as the Ravens went on to win, 31-24.
The Cardinals will look to end their losing streak next week when they travel to Cleveland to play the Browns on Sunday, November 5. Kick-off for that game will be at 11 a.m.
