GLENDALE, Ariz. — The Arizona Cardinals are playing the Baltimore Ravens at State Farm Stadium in Glendale and Baltimore's first touchdown of the game came from one player making a return to his hometown.
Mark Andrews, a former star wide receiver at Desert Mountain High School in Scottsdale, scored the 40th touchdown of his NFL career on a five-yard pass from quarterback Lamar Jackson in the first quarter.
The touchdown, which was Andrews' sixth of the season, tied the game at seven.
In his high school career at Desert Mountain, Andrews had 207 receptions for 3,674 yards and 48 touchdowns. Andrews set a state record with his 207 catches, but that was broken by Kade Warner in 2016. Warner's record was broken this season by ALA-Gilbert North's Brandon Phelps.
