PHOENIX — Playoff season is heating up as the temperatures drop as Week 11 of Friday Night Fever, Arizona's No. 1 and longest-running high school football show, saw the first round of the 3A playoffs.
This bracket started with 16 teams on Friday night, but is now down to the eight that will play in the quarterfinals next week.
Here's a look at the results from the first round and a look at the quarterfinal matchups.
3A Playoffs First Round Results
- No. 1 Benjamin Franklin defeated No. 16 Page, 46-0
- No. 2 ALA-West Foothills defeated No. 15 Dysart, 49-14
- No. 3 Thatcher defeated No. 14 Gilbert Christian, 56-14
- No. 4 Pusch Ridge defeated No. 13 Blue Ridge, 43-0
- No. 12 Paradise Honors upset No. 5 Mohave, 34-24
- No. 6 Florence defeated No. 11 Wickenburg, 21-7
- No. 10 Round Valley upset No. 7 River Valley, 35-18
- No. 8 ALA-Ironwood defeated No. 9 Payson, 36-20
3A Playoffs Quarterfinal Matchups
Here are the matchups for the 3A quarterfinals.
- No. 1 Benjamin Franklin vs. No. 8 ALA-Ironwood
- No. 2 ALA-West Foothills vs. No. 10 Round Valley
- No. 3 Thatcher vs. No. 6 Florence
- No. 4 Pusch Ridge vs. No. 12 Paradise Honors
The updated bracket is below.
The four quarterfinal games will be played next Friday, Nov. 15, and each game will be hosted by the higher-seeded school.
The 3A State Championship Game will be played on Saturday, Nov. 20 at 6 p.m. at Mountain Pointe High School in Ahwatukee.
There will be a new state champion in 3A as last year's state champion, Sabino, did not advance to the playoffs this year.
