PHOENIX — More schools are beginning to chase a golden football as Friday Night Fever, Arizona's No. 1 and longest-running high school football show, continues its 35th season!
On Friday, the playoffs began in both 2A and 3A and the first semifinal game was held in 1A.
In this article, we'll take a look at the results in 2A and the matchups for the quarterfinals.
Here's a look at the results from the first round of the 2A playoffs.
2A Playoffs First Round Results
- No. 1 San Tan Charter defeated No. 16 Holbrook, 50-24
- No. 2 Tonopah Valley defeated No. 15 Parker, 24-22
- No. 3 Pima defeated No. 14 St. Johns, 44-27
- No. 13 Veritas Prep upset No. 4 Phoenix Christian, 23-20
- No. 12 Scottsdale Christian upset No. 5 Santa Cruz Valley, 28-6
- No. 6 Bisbee defeated No. 11 Camp Verde, 33-20
- No. 7 Arizona Lutheran defeated No. 10 Miami, 80-20
- No. 8 Scottsdale Prep defeated No. 9 Willcox, 27-21
2A Playoffs Quarterfinal Matchups
- No. 1 San Tan Charter vs. No. 8 Scottsdale Prep
- No. 2 Tonopah Valley vs. No. 7 Arizona Lutheran
- No. 3 Pima vs. No. 6 Bisbee
- No. 13 Veritas Prep vs. No. 12 Scottsdale Christian

All four quarterfinal games will be played next Friday, Nov. 15, and will be hosted by the higher-seeded school.
The 2A State Championship Game will be played on Saturday, Nov. 30 at 2 p.m. at Mountain Pointe High School in Ahwatukee.
Scottsdale Christian is the reigning state champion in 2A as they defeated Pima, 41-24, in the 2023 State Championship Game.
