PHOENIX — A man has been recently sentenced to 48 years in prison for his involvement in two separate murders.

Timothy Bernal was sentenced in Maricopa County Superior Court after pleading guilty to two counts of first-degree murder, according to the Maricopa County Attorney's Office.

Bernal fatally shot Chad Munoz in May 2023 and then directed others to dispose of the victim's body.

During the investigation in Munoz's death, law enforcement connected Bernal to the death of Austen Mole a couple months earlier.

Mole, a 25-year-old musician and producer known as "Prince Azlynn," was reported missing in February 2023 after he was last seen near 19th Street and Camelback Road.

Mole's body was found at the bottom of a canal on March 31 near 16th Street and Baseline Road. Officials say the victim's body had been weighed down by cinder blocks. Mole was reportedly shot during a dispute with Bernal.

MCAO said both murders were committed while Bernal was on probation.
