ARIZONA, USA — Wintry weather made its return to Arizona late Tuesday night as a low-pressure system moved in kicking up strong winds, snow and showers across the state.
The cold front will leave behind below-average temperatures for the remainder of the workweek. The weekend will be moderately milder with more sunshine than anything else.

Thursday, 8:00 a.m.
The Valley was hit with its coldest wake-up call of the season Thursday morning, with a chill down to around 37 degrees.
Morning lows over the next few days in the rural desert Valleys, and of course at higher elevations too, will stay stuck in the freezing territory.
Wednesday, 7:45 a.m.
As wind advisories and warnings have been canceled, the Valley can expect calmer, cooler conditions with sunshine. Temperatures will remain on the colder side with a high of 59 degrees.
Wednesday, 5:15 a.m.
The Wind Advisory over Phoenix has expired. The highest wind report was set at Pinal Peak with 74 mph gusts.
Wednesday, 1:45 a.m.
The temperature at Phoenix Sky Harbor dropped 12 degrees in just 30 minutes.
Wednesday, 1 a.m.
After conditions abruptly turned wet and colder with patches of blowing dust in the Valley, wind gusts at Phoenix Sky Harbor were reported at 51 mph.
