PHOENIX — We hope you enjoyed the 70s and sunshine in the Valley on Monday because the weather is going to get a bit soggy.
As if the Phoenix area is wanting to do its best Seattle impression, residents can expect rain chances this week for four straight days. And things will be pretty damp.
Along with the cloudy skies, we can expect a steady flow of rain starting overnight Monday through the rest of the workweek. So be sure to pack your favorite umbrella and raincoat, you're going to need it for a while.
According to the National Weather Service, the Phoenix area can expect rainfall totals two inches this week, and areas north of the Valley can see totals approaching three inches.
The NWS is also urging drivers to use caution this week as thunderstorms are possible with these upcoming storms. Showers are expected to spread into the Phoenix area Tuesday morning and rain chances should stay near or above 50% through Friday, NWS says. During this timeframe, expect moderate to heavy rain at times.
In the High Country, the NWS is forecasting one to two inches to fall in the Flagstaff area, while the Payson area could see up to three inches.
