PHOENIX — Another double digit high is in the forecast for Thursday in Phoenix, which is slightly below average. Average high for this time of year is 100°. Full sunshine is in the forecast to wrap the week, along with the slightly lower temps.
Phoenix saw high temperatures of at least 100 degrees for 113 days straight. Overall, there have been 120 days so far this year of 100°+ days in Phoenix, which is the 8th most in a calendar year. The record is 145 days set in 2020. There will need to be 26 more days of 100°+ this year to set a new record. The latest 100°+ day is October 27th.
Enjoy lower humidity and cooler temperatures for the rest of the week. On Friday, Valley highs will reach the upper 90s and High Country highs in the 70s.
Limited moisture is shutting down monsoon storms statewide. The next weather system will return isolated rain chances to the High Country by the weekend; however, it's not looking like a washout at all.
We're not completely finished with the triple digits. Lower desert highs will return to the lower 100s starting Sunday.
