Phoenix set another heat record. You'll never guess how

The low temperature was 90 degrees this morning, 10 degrees above normal.

PHOENIX — Time for another, miserable record.

The low temperature this morning was 90 degrees, 10 degrees above normal and three degrees above the minimum for this day in history, according to the National Weather Service.

The previous heat record was set in 1983 and was a record high minimum of 87 degrees for Sept. 10. Today’s heat established a new all-time mark for the latest 90 degree day, as well.

Phoenix broke a heat record yesterday, too — Sept. 9 marked the 54th day of at least 110 degree temperatures.
