PHOENIX — Here's a breakdown of the current closures and detours drivers will find on Valley roads this weekend.
EAST VALLEY:
- I-10 westbound is closed between U.S. 60 and State Route 143 from 10 p.m. Friday to 4 a.m. Monday for Broadway Road Bridge work. In addition to this closure, these ramps are closed: the ramps to westbound I-10 from westbound U.S. 60 and southbound State Route 143; the westbound I-10 on-ramps between Elliot and Broadway Roads; the westbound U.S. 60 on-ramps between McClintock Drive and Mill Avenue. Drivers can use eastbound Loop 202 or eastbound U.S. 60 to northbound Loop 101 to westbound Loop 202 to access westbound I-10. Drivers heading to the west valley can bypass the work zone by using the Loop 202 west and north to connect with I-10 at 59th Avenue. Motorists traveling to Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport should allow extra travel time and use the Sky Harbor Boulevard entrance from Loop 202.
- State Route 24 is closed in both directions between San Tan 202 and Ellsworth Road for construction from 5 a.m. Saturday to 6 p.m. Sunday. Drivers can use Ellsworth and Elliot Roads while State Route 24 is closed.
Northbound Loop 101 (Price Freeway) right lane is closed between Chandler Boulevard and Warner Road from 5 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday (July 30) for pavement maintenance. Northbound Loop 101 on- and off-ramps between Chandler Boulevard and Warner Road are closed. Detour: Consider using other nearby on- or off-ramps. Access to nearby open on-ramps is available via the northbound Price frontage road.
WEST VALLEY:
- I-10 is narrowed to one lane in both directions between Verrado Way and Miller Road in Buckeye for a widening project from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday. Please allow extra travel time and consider adjusting driving schedules to avoid peak travel times.
- Eastbound Thunderbird Road is closed at I-17. Eastbound Thunderbird Road is closed between Metro North Corporate Park and the signaled intersection to Home Depot from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Wednesday and narrowed to one lane from 5 a.m. August 3 to 5 a.m. Monday, August 8. Drivers can use 35th or 19th Avenues to Cactus or Greenway Roads.
- Drivers heading to the west valley can bypass the work zone by using the Loop 202 west and north to connect with I-10 at 59th Avenue. Motorists traveling to Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport should allow extra travel time and use the Sky Harbor Boulevard entrance from Loop 202.
PHOENIX:
