PARIS, France — Another day of the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, another chance for an Arizona Olympian to bring home a medal.
On Monday, we saw former Phoenix Mercury forward Cierra Burdick win a bronze medal with the US women's 3x3 basketball team.
Who could add another medal to the Arizona haul on Tuesday? Here's a look at everyone competing on August 6.
Men's Basketball
The quarterfinals of the men's basketball tournament will get underway on Tuesday and there's an Arizona connection in every game.
- Germany vs. Greece
- Georgios Papagiannis, Greece
- Papagiannis was drafted by the Phoenix Suns in 2016 and was traded to the Sacramento Kings on draft night.
- In three games in the Olympics, Papagiannis is averaging 3.3 points and five rebounds.
- Germany beat Greece, 76-63. Papagiannis was held scoreless.

- Serbia vs. Australia
- Josh Green, Australia
- Green played at Mountain Ridge High School in Glendale and Hillcrest Prep in Phoenix before playing college basketball at the University of Arizona. He has played his entire NBA career for the Dallas Mavericks but was traded to the Charlotte Hornets this offseason.
- Green played in all three of Australia's group stage games but has yet to score.
- Jock Landale, Australia
- Landale played for the Phoenix Suns in the 2022-23 season and now plays for the Houston Rockets after signing as a free agent in July 2023.
- Landale has been one of the best players for Australia in the Olympics as he is leading the teams in points (17.7) and rebounds (9.7) per game.
- Serbia beat Australia 95-90. Green did not score and Landale finished with five points and six rebounds.
- Josh Green, Australia
- France vs. Canada, 9 a.m.
- Luguentz "Lu" Dort, Canada
- Dort played his lone year of college basketball at Arizona State in the 2018-19 season before turning pro. He went undrafted and signed with the Oklahoma City Thunder and has developed into one of the team's core pieces.
- In Canada's three group stage games, Dort averaged 6.3 points and two rebounds per game.
- Luguentz "Lu" Dort, Canada

- Kevin Durant, USA
- Devin Booker, USA
- Both Durant and Booker are current members of the Phoenix Suns. Booker has played for the Suns since he was drafted in 2015. Durant has been with the Suns since the team traded for him in February 2023.
- Booker is averaging 10.3 points, 2.3 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game in the Olympics, and Durant is averaging 16 points, 2.7 rebounds and two assists per game.
Water Polo
The quarterfinals of the women's water polo also begin on Tuesday and Arizona has connections to two of the games.

- Blaire McDowell, Canada
- McDowell played at ASU and has played an average of 13 minutes and 38 seconds per game for Canada and has not scored.
- Spain beat Canada 18-8.

- Both Rogge sisters played at ASU

Track and Field
- Women's 1,500 meters
- Round 1 heats began at 1:05 a.m.
- Flagstaff's Nikki Hiltz ran in heat two and advanced to the first semifinal.

- Men's 110-meter hurdles
- The repechage (aka second-chance or last-chance) round will begin at 1:50 a.m.
- Phoenix Track Club's Freddie Crittenden ran in heat 1 and took the top time at 13.42.
- Crittenden has the second-fastest time in the 110-meter hurdles in 2024, but is running in the repechage round after tweaking an abductor muscle over the weekend

Arizona sports
The city of Phoenix is home to four major professional sports league teams; The NFL's Arizona Cardinals, NBA's Phoenix Suns, WNBA’s Phoenix Mercury and MLB's Arizona Diamondbacks.
The Cardinals have made State Farm Stadium in Glendale their home turf and the Footprint Center in downtown Phoenix is home to both the Suns and the Mercury. The Indoor Football League’s Arizona Rattlers play at Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale.
Phoenix also has a soccer team with the USL's Phoenix Rising FC, who play at Phoenix Rising FC Stadium in Phoenix.
The Valley hosts multiple major sporting events every year, including college football's Fiesta Bowl and Guaranteed Rate Bowl; the PGA Tour’s highest-attended event, the WM Phoenix Open; NASCAR events each spring and fall, including Championship Weekend in November; and Cactus League Spring Training for 15 Major League Baseball franchises.
