1A high school football playoffs: Here are the teams that advanced to the semifinals

Arizona's eight-man football division, the 1A conference, continued their playoffs on Friday night with the quarterfinals. Here's a look at the teams moving on.

The quarterfinals are set for 1A (8-man football). Take a look at all of the matchups in the brackets. All games will be played on Nov. 1 at 7 p.m.

PHOENIX — The chase for the first golden football of the 2024 high school football season in Arizona continued on Friday night, as the AIA's eight-man football division, the 1A conference, played their quarterfinal matchups. 

This was the first time the top four seeds in the 1A playoffs — Hayden, Bagdad, Mogollon and St. David — played in the playoffs after getting byes through the first round of the 12-team bracket. 

Here are a look at the results from the quarterfinals and a look at the semifinal matchups. 

1A Playoffs Quarterfinals Results 

  • No. 1 Hayden defeated No. 8 Desert Christian, 77-6 
  • No. 4 St. David defeated No. 5 Mohave Accelerated, 59-12
  • No. 3 Mogollon defeated No. 6 El Capitan, 46-0 
  • No. 2 Bagdad defeated No. 7 Lincoln Prep, 62-12

1A Playoffs Semifinal Matchups 

Here are the matchups for the 1A semifinals 

  • No. 1 Hayden vs. No. 4 St. David 
  • No. 3 Mogollon vs. No. 2 Bagdad

The semifinals are set for 1A (8-man football). Take a look at the matchups in this bracket. All games will be played on Nov. 8 at Coronado H.S.

Both of the semifinal games will be played at Coronado High School in Scottsdale next week. The dates and times of the games have yet to be announced. 

The 1A State Championship game will be played on No. 16 at 6 p.m. at Coronado High School.  

Hayden is looking to defend their 2023 1A state title. The Lobos beat Mogollon 60-23 in the title game last season.
