SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — The weather continues to impact the 2024 WM Phoenix Open.
Frost has caused the delay of the first round Friday morning, officials said. The round is expected to begin at 9 a.m. after the 90-minute delay.
PGA officials shared the news Friday morning on social media.
Weather continues to be a big storyline at this year's event. Severe storms forced the cancellation of the Annexus Pro-Am on Wednesday and a heavy downpour forced the suspension of the first round on Thursday.
Large amounts of rain also forced the closure of several grass field parking lots around the course. Tournament officials are urging fans to park at WestWorld and utilize the free shuttle service.
Despite the delay, fans were still lined up early this morning to make the mad dash to the 16th hole. Sky 12 captured footage of the scene.
