First round of 2024 WM Phoenix Open resumes after weather delay

Wednesday's Annexus Pro-Am was canceled because of weather.

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — Weather continues to be a problem for the WM Phoenix Open. After the Annexus Pro-Am was canceled Wednesday, the first round of the WM Phoenix Open was suspended Thursday just after noon after severe weather soaked greens and flooded parking lots.

Play was expected to resume at 4 p.m., the PGA Tour tweeted:

Event organizers also announced that all of the grass field parking lots would be closed Thursday because they're too soaked to use.

Primary general parking will be at the Westworld and Salt River Fields. All parking and shuttles are free. People with parking passes for lots 2-6 are instead being directed to park at the northwest corner of Hayden and Mayo.

You can find a parking map and recommendations here.

Wednesday

Soggy, slippery conditions and moments of hail forced the cancellation of the Annexus Pro-Am at the WM Phoenix Open on Wednesday.

Play was suspended at 11:53 a.m. Wednesday due to weather and fully cancelled later in the day. The WHOOPS Shot of Glory will still be held at 2:30 p.m., on the 16th hole.

Many parts of the Valley reported getting more than a quarter inch of rainfall Tuesday night. More rainy weather is expected to hit the Valley throughout this week.
