GOP VP nominee JD Vance looking for votes in the Valley ahead of November election

This is one of two stops for Vance in the Valley. Thursday he will attend an event in Phoenix at the Arizona Biltmore.

MESA, Ariz. — GOP vice president nominee JD Vance is speaking at an event in Mesa Wednesday night.

The event, at Generation Church, is aimed at getting people to vote this November.

This is the second trip to Arizona for Vance, an Ohio senator, in a matter of weeks. Vance was here in the Valley in July for a campaign stop with former President Donald Trump in Glendale.

There Vance discussed the Biden administration’s policies on immigration and border security.

Vance is among several Republicans set to speak at the event, "Chase the Vote," sponsored by the conservative group Turning Point.

This is one of two stops for Vance in the Valley. Thursday he will attend an event in Phoenix at the Arizona Biltmore.

Vance’s stop in the Valley comes as Presidential contenders Kamala Harris and Trump are using the week before their debate to sharpen their economic messages about who could do more for the middle class.

Harris used a campaign stop in New Hampshire on Wednesday to propose expanded tax incentives for small businesses.

Trump, meanwhile, is betting that Americans crave trillions of dollars in tax cuts and that growth will be so fantastic that it's not worth worrying about budget deficits.

The candidates will debate next week.

By the end of the end of the month, early voting will be underway in at least four states.
