ARIZONA, USA — We’re only a week out from Mother’s Day. The special day is going to look and feel a lot different than in years past due to the stay at home orders.
But, a new study shows most moms want to spend time with their families and during COVID-19, you can easily give mom that, while also finding a little something special for her to unwrap that will make her day.
“There’s certainly been a tremendous impact to our shopping centers with COVID-19,” said Emilie Andrews with Vestar, Tempe Marketplace and Desert Ridge Marketplace.
She says the shops and restaurants have adapted.
“Offering curbside, easy pickup solutions,” she said.
They’ve also rolled out a dining program called Drive-in to Delish.
“It allows people to pull into designated parking spots, use their phone to scan a QR code, and then they can pull up menus from available restaurants that are participating,” Andrews said.
As businesses all around Arizona work toward reopening fully, they’re trying to find ways to keep people coming back. Ahead of Mother’s Day, they have a lot of special gifts available for mom.
“We definitely want moms to still feel special,” she said.
A lot of shops are offering great deals you order safely online, drive-up, and pick up curbside. They have gifts ranging from electronics, music, home spa kits, wine or even fun art the kids can make for mom.
“I know with my daughters, they’re looking for activities to do,” Andrews said. “So this could be something really fun to do together or this rock painting kit.”
Before you pick up your gift, you can rest assured the staff is staying clean and sanitized here.
“They wear gloves, they wear masks when they’re doing the delivery,” Andrews added. “We still want to try to make mom feel very special and being able to provide those curbside pickup options, is a great way to do that.”
