MOHAVE COUNTY, Ariz. — On Wednesday, Mohave County announced that it has formally lifted bans on open fire and fireworks that had been in place since June 28.

Mohave County Emergency Management Officer Mike Browning reportedly determined that fire zones were no longer under emergency conditions, allowing for the ban to be lifted, the county said in a press release.

The Bureau of Land Management also lifted a similar ban on land under its management in Mohave County.

"Recent precipitation, weather changes, fire ignitions and behaviors have been factored into this determination," the county said in a press release. "The lifting of the ban coincides with BLM also lifting their fire restrictions on the same date."

Both bans were lifted at 8 a.m. on Sept. 27.

The Mohave County Board of Supervisors is scheduled discuss formally ratifying the changes during the upcoming Oct. 7 meeting.
