The West Point High School student was shot while she was asleep in bed at a home near 107th Avenue and Camelback Road. The incident occurred in the early morning hours of Sept. 3, 2023.

Phoenix police have previously said Brown may have been unintentionally shot during a targeted drive-by shooting.

A 17-year-old suspect was arrested in January for the shooting and Richards was identified as a possible suspect at that time.

Police said there may be others involved in the shooting. Anyone with information about the incident can call 480-WITNESS.
