APACHE JUNCTION, Ariz. — A Peoria man was indicted for murder after allegedly driving the wrong way on US 60 in Apache Junction and crashing into an SUV.

The woman driving the SUV, 28-year-old Elizabeth McAloon, was killed and her 7-year-old daughter was injured in the crash, police said.

Several individuals began calling 911 on Jan. 20 at around 9:30 p.m. to report a truck driving "aggressively, moving in and out of traffic," and then heading in the wrong direction on US 60 near Mountain View Road.

Adam Parker, 37, was identified as the driver of the truck.

According to the probable cause statement, Parker's blood alcohol content was more than 0.23.

"This incident shows a tragic and real-life consequence of driving impaired," Pinal County Attorney Kent Volkmer said in a news release. "Our thoughts are with the victim's family and especially the young child who is now without her mother."

Parker was arraigned Friday in Pinal County Superior Court.
