ELOY, Ariz. — Eloy Police arrested 54-year-old Terrence Ryder of Montana after he led them on a chase on I-10 Tuesday morning.

According to Eloy Police, the chase started around 8 a.m.

Officers went out to the Pilot Truck Stop on South Sunshine Boulevard after getting calls about a man in a white pickup truck, later identified as Ryder, yelling at customers.

Officers tried to pull the truck over, but Ryder drove away onto eastbound I-10. Officers chased him for a short while but stopped the chase for safety and went back to the truck stop to talk to witnesses.

Ryder also returned to the truck stop, and yelled at the officers from the truck, saying his dead wife was in the back of the truck. He then drove away onto eastbound I-10 and officers chased him again.

Eloy Police then called the Arizona Dept. of Public Safety and troopers were able to use stop sticks to slow Ryder down.

Ryder continued to drive until his truck would not continue to drive. At that point, he barricaded himself in his car but was arrested shortly after.

Police did not find a body in the truck.

Ryder was taken to the Pinal County Jail and has been charged with unlawful flight, aggravated assault on law enforcement, disorderly conduct, criminal damage, criminal trespass and obstructing a highway.
