PHOENIX — A pedestrian is dead following a hit-and-run crash in Phoenix, police said. This is the second pedestrian death in the Valley today.
Phoenix police said a man was hit by at car near the intersection of 39th Avenue and Van Buren Street just after 6:45 p.m. on Saturday.
When police got to the scene, they found a man with serious injuries. The driver of the car left the scene before police arrived.
The man who was hit died at the scene of the crash.
Police are still looking for the car that hit and killed the man. Based on preliminary information, police said an unknown vehicle was traveling east on Van Buren Street and hit the pedestrian as he was crossing the road.
The man who was hit has not been identified.
Earlier on Saturday, a woman was killed in a hit-and-run while out jogging in New River.
