PHOENIX — A teenager is dead after three people were shot Monday afternoon near 45th Avenue and Thomas Road in Phoenix, the city's police department said.
Officers responded to the scene around 2:15 p.m. where three victims all with at least one gunshot wound were located and two of them were transported to area hospitals. One victim, 17-year-old Arlandis West Jr., was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said one of the wounded individuals, 18-year-old Brazion Sheppard, was identified as the suspect and was be booked into jail after he was released from the hospital. The third injured person, a juvenile girl, sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
Preliminary information suggests the man confronted the juvenile, which resulted in gunfire being exchanged.

Calls to Silent Witness are answered 24/7 by a live person and submitted tips are accepted at all times. Submitted tips are then sent to the detective(s) in charge of the specific case.
Individuals who submit tips that lead to an arrest or indictment in the case can get a reward of up to $1,000.
