CHANDLER, Ariz. — A 19-year-old Casa Grande resident was arrested Thursday for his alleged involvement in the killing of a 16-year-old at a Chandler park on March 10.
Javion Brown is facing charges of first-degree murder and armed robbery for a violent shooting reported at Snedigar Sportsplex in south Chandler.
The shooting killed 16-year-old Jaylan Collins of Queen Creek and wounded two 17-year-olds from San Tan Valley. Last weekend's incident is one of several reported throughout the East Valley involving violence committed against teenagers.
Brown was taken into custody in Casa Grande and booked into jail on multiple felony charges.
Chandler detectives are continuing to investigate the deadly incident. Anyone with information can call 480-WITNESS.

The county contains around 63% of Arizona’s population and is 9,224 square miles. That makes the county larger than seven U.S. states (Rhode Island, Delaware, Connecticut, Hawaii, New Jersey, Massachusetts and New Hampshire).
One of the largest park systems in the nation is also located in Maricopa County. The county has an estimated 120,000 acres of open space parks that includes hundreds of miles of trails, nature centers and campgrounds.
The county’s seat is located in Phoenix, which is also the state capital and the census-designated 5th most populous city in the United States.
The county was named after the Maricopa, or Piipaash, Native American Tribe.
