Tempe mayor gets new ink at the oldest single owner tattoo shop in the city

Corey Woods worked with the owner of Living Canvas, Mark Walters, to design a tattoo with a special meaning.

TEMPE, Ariz. — To celebrate 31 years in business and the honor of being the oldest single-owner tattoo shop in all of Tempe, Living Canvas had the chance to truly make a mark on the city: inking up Tempe Mayor Corey Woods.

"If feels like an honor and I'm very grateful," Walters said.

Woods worked with the owner of Living Canvas Mark Walters to plan a tattoo for his mother, whom Woods lost in 2012.

"If feels like an honor and I'm very grateful," Walters said.

The shop was honored with a proclamation following their years of service to the community along Mill Avenue right near Arizona State University

During their 15-year anniversary, Living Canvas donated proceeds back to the children's hospital and this time around they did $31 tattoos to mark their anniversary in the Tempe community.
