MESA, Ariz. — A family of ducks caught a lucky break over the weekend after an Arizona Humane Society worker rescued four ducklings trapped in a storm drain.
The department received a call of the ducklings crying for help after falling into the drain near a large pond in East Mesa.
Human society technician Andy Gallo went to the scene and managed to free the ducklings within an hour.
After making sure they weren’t injured, Gallo returned the ducklings to their grateful mom and dad nearby.
Gallo says this was one of his favorite rescues and something “desperately needed during this pandemic that has weighed so heavily on everyone’s hearts.”
