Teens paid to learn at Maricopa County Sheriff's Office summer camp
Sheriff Paul Penzone launched a three-week boot camp that gives south and central Phoenix teens who are about to enter adulthood an introduction to law enforcement last year. Completion of the program comes with a perk, a check for $450. The camp comes at a time when mistrust of law enforcement has once again flared up in the Valley, and these students are learning what it's like to wear the uniform.
