PHOENIX — A winter storm moving across Arizona is bringing snow and rain.

Chances for showers and thunderstorms increase Thursday evening with an emphasis on the mountain regions, according to meteorologist Lindsay Riley.

A wind advisory and a winter storm advisory for elevations above 6,000 feet are in effect for northern Arizona. Blowing snow is expected, Riley said.

The best chance for Valley rainfall is Thursday evening through Friday afternoon.

Expect winds 20-40 mph range that could kick up dust in the deserts.

Temperatures will tumble to January standards to wrap up the workweek.
