Weather Impact Alert: Dust storm advisory issued for Valley for Sunday evening

The dust storm warning is impacting the East Valley

PHOENIX — The National Weather Service in Phoenix has issued a dust storm warning issued for parts of the Valley for Sunday evening.

The warning is in effect until 8:30 p.m. in southeast portions of the Phoenix metro area. Areas affected include Chandler, Mesa and Queen Creek and other areas along Interstate 10 and Loop 202 in south and East Valley. 

The NWS Phoenix said to expect hazardous conditions on roadways due to blowing dust. Drivers should pull off the road to wait out the storm.

The east side of the Valley is also seeing thunderstorms with gusty winds, frequent lightning and heavy rainfall, according to the NWS.
