PHOENIX — The rain is here, Arizona. An atmospheric river is expected to link up with Arizona, bringing with it cool temps and lots of precipitation from Jan. 21 through Jan. 23.
So how much rainfall are we expected to get? Here's a look ahead.

FORECAST: What to expect over the next few days
Sunday:
The first round of showers began in the morning and will linger with isolated chances of rain through the evening. Rain totals will range from 0.10 - 0.30" for the low deserts and up to 0.5" across higher elevations. Temperatures will be noticeably cooler this afternoon, with highs in the low 60s.
Monday:
Shower chances will increase throughout the day, hitting around 40% after noon. But it's in the evening where the rain will really pick up. We're looking at chances as high as 80% by Monday night.
Expect anywhere from 0.25" - 0.5" of rain Monday. Still not much wind, only capping at about 5 mph.
Tuesday:
Mondays showers are going to continue into Tuesday morning. Chances as high as 70% in the morning, tapering off as the day goes on. Expect around 0.1" - 0.25" of rain that morning.
By Tuesday night, rain chances will dip as low as 20% and calm down entirely by midnight.
We'll get our sun back Wednesday with a calm, mostly sunny day after all the inclement weather.
