This year in Phoenix the highest temperature recorded has been 118 degrees, which occurred on June 19, but how would you feel about 128 degrees?

The hottest temperature ever recorded in the state of Arizona occurred on this day back in 1994. It happened in the afternoon hours in Lake Havasu City when the temperature spiked to a truly scorching 128 degrees.

To put this into perspective, the hottest temperature recorded on the globe, is 134 degrees, which was recorded at Furnace Creek Ranch in Death Valley, California, on July 7, 1913.

This means the world's hottest temperature is just 6 degrees warmer compared to this scorching high mark set in Lake Havasu City.

For Phoenix, the warmest ever temperature occurred back on June 26, 1990, when the temperature reached 122 degrees.
