Storms, showers, flooding could hit Flagstaff, Prescott, Payson Saturday night

Flash flood watches have been issued.

The National Weather Service in Flagstaff says storms are increasing this afternoon in northwest Coconino County and could continue throughout Saturday night.

According to the NWS, the storms should move south and east Saturday night, which could effect areas including Prescott, Flagstaff and Payson.

6:00 p.m.

Two flash flood warnings have been issued in northern Arizona.

The first is for Havasu Creek near Supai, where local law enforcement is reporting a 3-foot rise in the creek and flooding in town.

The second is for Antelope Canyon where flash flooding is possible in low-lying washes and creeks.

5:56 p.m.

Severe thunderstorm warnings and flash flood warnings are in effect near Page, where hail and strong winds are possible.

4:08 p.m.

The NWS Flagstaff says a flash flood watch has been issued for Yavapai County and portions of south central Coconino County from 8 p.m. Saturday night to 5 p.m. Sunday evening.

A flash flood watch has been issued for the eastern Mogollon Rim and northern Gila County from 11 p.m. Saturday night to 5 p.m. Sunday evening.

Furthermore, the NWS in Phoenix issued a flash flood watch for a portion of south central Arizona, including Cave Creek/New River, Mazatzal Mountains, New River Mesa, Rio Verde/Salt River and Tonto Basin.

This comes because of the possibility of rainfall in areas that have already soaked up a lot of rain after the remnants of Hurricane Rosa hit Arizona earlier this week.
