Snow was reported in parts of the Valley. Here's where

The National Weather Service said snow reportedly accumulated in the north Scottsdale area.

PHOENIX — The Valley was hit with another strong winter storm Wednesday night.

Most of the Phoenix area saw high winds and was blanketed with rainfall for several hours. But, some outlying cities were greeted with some rare snowfall.

Snow began to cover the ground late Wednesday as temperatures dipped to below-freezing in the north and far eastern portions of the Valley. The National Weather Service in Phoenix shared a video of the snowfall from Twitter user John Sirlin.

"This is around Cave Creek Rd and Lone Mountain Rd. Elevation here is around 1800-2000 feet," NWS Phoenix tweeted. "Drive carefully on snow-covered roads."

The NWS reported snow falling through the 3 a.m. hour Thursday morning and said the snowfall should begin to subside by sunrise.

Along with north Scottsdale, we also received photos from viewers showing snow on the ground in the Gold Canyon area.

While this was a rare sight to behold down here in the Valley, the High Country received plenty of snow from this storm, breaking previous records.
