New daily rainfall record set in Phoenix

Phoenix set a new daily rainfall record Tuesday with .40 inches. Since Monday evening, Phoenix has received .66 inches of rain.

PHOENIX — Winter weather has left the Valley soaked over the last few days. 

Phoenix set a new daily rainfall record Tuesday with .40 inches. Since Monday evening, Phoenix has received .66 inches of rain. 

Other areas of the Valley received anywhere from .20 to 1.20 inches of rain since Monday. 

A portion of 7th Avenue, between Coral Gables Drive and Greenway Parkway, had to be closed temporarily Tuesday afternoon due to flooding. Sky12 shows water flowing over the roadway at a low point in the street.

Monday's rainfall broke some records down south near the border, so we've got a look at how much rain the state got over the last 24 hours as of 10:45 p.m. on Tuesday:

Yuma broke a daily rainfall record on Monday. 1.06 inches of rain has fallen, which broke the record of .50 inches back in 1915.
