PHOENIX — Arizona, we've got rain on the way and a lot of it. The Valley and several parts of Southwest Arizona are under a flood watch starting Friday morning and lasting overnight into Saturday, NWS Phoenix said.
The flood watch stretches from the western border of the state all the way to Globe. It will last from 6 a.m. on Friday until 6 a.m. on Saturday.

Phoenix is expected to get a record-setting inch of rainfall, beating the previous record of 0.96" set in 1965. Other parts of south-central Arizona could see as much a 1.25"-1.50", with as much as 2" likely north of the Valley.

Be aware that roadways, creeks, and washes are likely to flood during the storm. Never drive across flooded roads and low water crossings. Most of the impact will be on Friday.
Expect showers Saturday morning with most rainfall concentrated north and east of Phoenix. Be sure to pack your umbrella and warm clothes for the end of the week as rain is expected to fall throughout the entire day Friday and into Saturday morning. We will be tracking the storm as it develops.
