Recap: More storms moved through the Valley on Sunday

Stormy weather moved across parts of the Valley Sunday evening to finish off the weekend.

PHOENIX β€” Blowing dust moved into the Valley on Sunday afternoon, triggered by thunderstorms in Pinal County. 

A few storms near the White Mountains and Tucson also popped up.

Around 1,040 outages were reported for APS customers in the Tempe area as of 8:20 p.m. The estimated time for restoration was 10:30 p.m.

On Sunday, the high temperature in Phoenix reached 111 degrees. 

As the new work week begins, the Valley will see a 10 percent chance for showers and storms. 

Most of the activity will remain in the White Mountains, Southeast Arizona, and in the higher terrain of Northern Arizona.

On Saturday and Sunday, an excessive heat advisory will likely be issued.

According to the National Weather Service, thunderstorms are affecting portions of Pinal and Gila counties.

Casa Grande, Arizona City and Toltec are under a Severe Thunderstorm warning, according to the National Weather Service.
