Monsoon weather soaked northwest Phoenix, but didn't impact anywhere else

The National Weather Service had put advisories in place for Maricopa and surrounding counties.

PHOENIX — Monsoon storms moved into the Valley on Sunday night.

Localized flash flooding, frequent lightning & damaging wind gusts will be possible with this line of storms. 

12 News Meteorologist Lindsay Riley said: 

There is a line of storms that extends from Cave Creek to Buckeye that is moving east at 25 mph. 

These storms are losing strength as they push eastward, but will still be capable of producing 30-40 mph wind gusts and very heavy rain, which could lead to localized flash flooding. Most of the Valley will see some much needed rain tonight from this line, but showers and storms should be lighter by the time they reach the East Valley. A Flash Flood Watch will remain in effect through 11 p.m.

A severe thunderstorm warning has been put in place for La Paz and Maricopa Counties until 9:15 p.m. High winds and penny-sized hail are possible.

Storms are rolling into the northwest of the city.

Flash flood warnings have been put in place for Maricopa and Pinal Counties until 7:45 p.m. 

Wind, lightning and heavy rainfall advisories are in place for East Central La Paz, Northern Yuma and Maricopa Counties until 7:15 p.m.
