Storms move through the Valley Monday night

Monsoon is staying active.

PHOENIX — Storms moved through the Valley and northern Arizona Monday evening. 

Some areas in the Valley and the outlying regions sawblowing dust while others saw heavy showers and windy conditions.

A dust storm was seen in the West Valley Monday evening near Grand Avenue and Deer Valley Road.

There were also reports of dust blowing in the East Valley in Scottsdale.

A dust advisory was issued for Maricopa County due to the weather conditions.

Some areas in the Valley experienced power outages as a result of the stormy weather.

SRP reports around 1,500 outages for areas around the Valley while APS is reporting more than 5,000 outages for the Phoenix area.

The Arizona Department is Transportation (ADOT) is urging drivers to use caution on the roadways.

Drivers should slow down on wet roads, leave plenty of braking room and never drive into a dust storm.

9:30 p.m

The NWS is tracking isolated showers with a few embedded lightning strikes in southcentral Arizona. 

"A few locations could pick up a quick 0.25" of rain through 11 p.m. while many others will see nothing," the NWS tweeted.

9:15 p.m.

Meteorologist Lindsay Riley gave an update on storms across Arizona. 

7:15 p.m.  

The National Weather Service issued a flash flood warning for Maricopa County that will be in effect until 9:15 p.m.

6:50 p.m. - The National Weather Service reported a cluster of storms moving over northeast Maricopa County nearing the Phoenix metro area.

5:54 p.m. - ADOT reported a dust storm in the area of Grand Avenue and Deer Valley Road near Loop 303.
