PHOENIX — There are still another two weeks left of January and the month has already recorded some of the most rainfall the Valley has seen in years.
As of Jan. 16, the Phoenix area had accumulated 1.07" of rainfall. The Valley has not recorded over an inch of rainfall during the month of January since 2017 when 1.31" fell over the Valley.
January 1993 holds the modern record for the most rainfall recorded in that month after over five inches of rainfall fell over the Valley, according to the National Weather Service.
The following rainfall totals represent the amount of rainfall collected as of 9:45 p.m. on Jan. 16:
- Goodyear: 0.28"
- Litchfield Park: 0.51"
- Ahwatukee: 0.24"
- North Scottsdale: 0.25"
- Scottsdale: 0.24"
- Queen Creek: 0.51"
- Phoenix: 0.20"
- Tempe: 0.24"
- Mesa: 0.28"
- Glendale: 0.35"
- Apache Junction: 0.39"
- El Mirage: 0.43"
- Paradise Valley: 0.28"
- Sun City West: 0.35"
- Fountain Hills: 0.31"
- Guadalupe: 0.24"
- Paradise Valley: 0.31"
- Chandler: 0.28"

The rainy weather will continue to stick around for the beginning of the workweek as storms bring more rain to the Valley and snow in the High Country.
