It was cold in Phoenix this morning, but these Arizona spots were downright frigid

According to the National Weather Service, the Grand Canyon area reached -6 degrees on Thursday.

The cold spell continued Thursday morning after lows in Phoenix dipped to 30 degrees Wednesday.

It was a very chilly morning in the Valley, but the National Weather Service was quick to point out that many spots around Arizona were a whole lot colder.

Thursday morning, the NWS tweeted out the 6 a.m. temperatures for several locations across the Grand Canyon State and we’re shivering just reading them.

And in another interesting freeze factoid, Krystle Henderson said this morning during Today in AZ that Phoenix's record for low temperatures in the 30s is 37 days in a row.

So far, the current cold streak is at seven.
