PHOENIX — Meteorologists are expecting a large storm system to make its way across Arizona Thursday night and into Friday bringing a good chances for rain and snow.
An inch of rain is forecasted for the lower desert areas with some areas in the higher terrain expected to see nearly 2 inches of rain, according to the National Weather Service.
Thunderstorms are possible, and ponding and roadway flooding could occur as the storms move through the Phoenix area. Officials urge drivers to be careful on the roads ahead of the weekend.
The snow level is expected to fall around 7,500-8,500 feet Friday when the storm moves through northern Arizona Friday. Temperatures will also drop 10-15 degrees.
