The normally dry Hassayampa River and nearby washes were flowing in Wickenburg. A severe summer storm pounded the area Saturday dropping over 3.50 inches of rain over two hours. At Morristown, the river was running at 14 feet.

According to Wickenburg Town Manager Joshua Wright, the hardest hit area was the Powder Wash neighborhood north of the U.S. 60 and Jack Burden Road.

Wright told 12 News Saturday at least seven structures have damage. No one has been evacuated so far, but neighbors are helping people if they need to be relocated. Crews were out working to clear dirt and debris that collected on the street.

Another area of the town that was hit hard by flooding is south Tegner Street. It has not been determined how many residences may have been flooded, Wright said.

The Hassayampa River did not cause flooding, it was washes that flowed into the town Wright said. The washes that overflowed include the Cemetery and Flying E.

Sky 12 flew over numerous structures completely flooded by water Saturday, along with RV's, school buses and streets. In some areas after the water receded, what was left behind was thick, brown mud.

Meanwhile, the U.S. 60, Grand Avenue, has reopened in Wickenburg. Flooding had closed the roadway for a time Saturday.
