Could the Northern Lights make a repeat appearance in Arizona? The answer is maybe.

These lights are usually only seen near the North and South poles. However, during intense solar storms, they can be seen as far south as Texas and Arizona.

PHOENIX — NOAA's Storm Weather Prediction Center issued a Geomagnetic Storm Watch Monday through Wednesday.

Experts said there is potential for a G3 (strong) solar storm Tuesday. During these storms, the sun releases rounds of energized particles racing toward the Earth creating beautiful dancing lights in the sky known as Aurora Borealis.

These northern lights are usually only seen near the North and South Pole. However, during intense solar storms, they can be seen as far south as Texas and Arizona.

Earlier this summer portions of Arizona played witness to this phenomenon during the strongest geomagnetic storm in 20 years.

Keep your eyes peeled Tuesday night and Wednesday!
