It was the hottest summer on record. Here's when temps are expected to fall in the Valley.

A cooldown is in the works and the Valley will be seeing double-digit temps as early as Tuesday.

PHOENIX — After a very long summer of triple digit temps and record-breaking heat, the Valley may finally be able to say what we've all been waiting for:

"Its fall, y'all!"

That's right, temps across the Valley are expected to drop to the double digits as soon as Tuesday across the Phoenix metropolitan area — and on Saturday?

On Saturday, it may even be in the 70s!

Here's a look ahead at what to expect with the cooler weather.

MONDAY: High of 101 degrees in Phoenix with a 0% chance of below-normal temperatures.

TUESDAY: High of 97 degrees with a 0% chance of below-normal temperatures.

WEDNESDAY: High of 97 degrees with a 0% chance of below-normal temperatures.

THURSDAY: High of 92 degrees with a 0% chance of below-normal temperatures.

FRIDAY: High of 82 degrees with a 70% chance of below-normal temperatures

SATURDAY: High of 78 degrees with an 80% chance of below-normal temperatures.

Rain chances will also increase by 20 to 50% across the lower deserts of Arizona and 50 to 70% in the higher terrain north and east of Phoenix, according to the National Weather Service.

This storm system moving in the southwest could result in localized winds from 20 to 35 mph and temperatures up to 10 degrees below normal.

It's been a long summer, Phoenix. Enjoy the fall temps and stay cool out there.
