Hanny's in downtown Phoenix gives visitors a look into the Valley's past

Find something nostalgic and new at Hanny's in downtown Phoenix.

PHOENIX — Once a department store in 1947, Hanny's is now an iconic downtown Phoenix restaurant and bar with some creative new additions and experiences.

The owners have kept much of the vintage store's interior. While you dine and drink, you'll still see original entrance signs, signs advertising brands, logos and a mural on the back of the building.

The historic hidden gem not only honors its retro side but also embraces modern masterpieces too.

It recently transformed its former freight elevator shaft into a four-story 10,000-lumen projection kaleidoscope! The triple-chambered mirrored architecture is one of the largest of its kind. Visitors can walk right into it by stepping on the suspended glass floor.

Another attraction for decades has been a growing collection of (you may insert "creepy" here) dolls that have gained a lot of popularity with visitors and Instagrammers. Many offer coins and tokens which has been adding up to be quite the fortune.

Even the unique mirrored bathrooms have become Instagram-worthy! The bathrooms are the former department store's fitting rooms.

During the holidays, Hanny's always gets creative with its tree. Check out Hanny's Instagram @hannysbar to see it all.
