PHOENIX — A woman was killed in a four-car crash in Phoenix on Monday.
The crash happened at 45th Avenue and Thomas Road where the woman died at the scene, according to the Phoenix Police Department.
Another adult male driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital.
Witnesses told officers a silver passenger car was making a left turn onto westbound Thomas Road and crashed into a white pickup truck that was heading eastbound on Thomas Road.
The truck was pushed into oncoming traffic and crashed with a gold-colored SUV that was westbound on Thomas Road. There was also a silver SUV westbound on Thomas Road that was sideswiped by the other SUV.
The driver of the silver passenger car showed signs of intoxication and a blood sample was collected after detectives obtained a search warrant.
A charging decision will be made once the investigation is complete. Detectives are working to identify the woman who died on scene.
