What freeways are closed this weekend? Here's your Phoenix traffic report for Nov. 1 - Nov. 4

Here is a breakdown of the closures and detours on Valley roads this weekend.

PHOENIX — We made it to the weekend, now it's time to get out and about and explore and take advantage of the beautiful fall weather.

But before you take off, there are a few closures and detours on the Valley roadways that drivers need to be aware of. Parts of Interstate 10 and Loop 101 will be closed.

The Arizona Department of Transportation recently shared some news on closures on their X (formerly Twitter) feed. Here are a few notable reminders.

US 60

  • Westbound US 60 will be closed between Loop 101 and I-10 in Tempe from 10 p.m. Friday to 7 p.m. Saturday for sign work related to the Broadway Curve Improvement Project. Westbound US 60 on-ramps at Country Club Drive, Alma School Road and Dobson Road will also close.     
    • Detours: Westbound US 60 traffic can detour on northbound Loop 101 to westbound Loop 202 to reach Sky Harbor Airport and downtown Phoenix. Also: Westbound US 60 drivers also can use southbound Loop 101 to westbound Loop 202 in Chandler to reach eastbound I-10 (toward Tucson).
  • Eastbound US 60 is expected to be closed between I-10 and Mill Avenue in Tempe from 10 p.m. Saturday to 4 a.m. Monday for bridge and sign work for the Broadway Curve Improvement Project. All I-10 ramps to eastbound US 60 will be closed as well. Westbound I-10 on-ramp at Baseline Road is scheduled to close along with southbound SR 143 ramp to eastbound I-10.    
    • Detours: I-10 drivers can consider using eastbound Loop 202 (Santan Freeway) in Chandler to northbound Loop 101 (Price Freeway) to reach eastbound US 60. From downtown Phoenix consider using eastbound Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) to southbound Loop 101 to reach eastbound US 60.

Interstate 17

  • Southbound I-17 will close between Peoria and Dunlap avenues from 10 p.m. Friday to 4 a.m. Monday for work on Valley Metro’s light rail bridge. Southbound I-17 on-ramps at Greenway, Thunderbird and Cactus roads are set to be closed too.
    • Detour: Alternate routes include southbound 19th or 35th avenues.

Loop 202

  • Eastbound Loop 202 is scheduled to be closed between the I-10/SR 51 “Mini-Stack” interchange and Priest Drive from 9 p.m. Friday to 3 p.m. Saturday for pavement sealing.      
    • Detour: Consider detouring on eastbound I-10 to northbound SR 143 or using local alternate routes to travel beyond the closure.
  • Westbound Loop 202 will also close between Priest Drive and the I-10/SR 51 “Mini-Stack” interchange from 9 p.m. Saturday to 3 p.m. Sunday for pavement sealing.      
    • Detour: Consider detouring on southbound SR 143 to westbound I-10 or using local alternate routes to travel beyond the closure.
