Westbound lanes of Loop 202 Red Mountain Freeway closed at Scottsdale Road due to crash

The crash happened near the Scottsdale Road exit and left a motorcyclist with non-life-threatening injuries.

TEMPE, Ariz. — The westbound lanes of the Loop 202 Red Mountain Freeway are closed at Scottsdale Road in Tempe due to a crash, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety. 

AZDPS told 12News that they are investigating a crash in the area that sent a person who was riding a motorcycle to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The motorcycle was the only vehicle involved in the crash, according to AZDPS. 

AZDPS said they do not yet know when the freeway will reopen. 

No other information about the crash was released.
