PHOENIX — Anywhere you want to be picked up, "any Waymo" you want: Autonomous vehicles are now picking up and dropping off passengers at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport.

The Google-based company announced on Tuesday that passengers can now be picked up curbside at terminals three and four any day, any time. With this change, Sky Harbor has become the first airport in the country to have autonomous vehicles that provide curbside service 24/7.

Previously, passengers at Sky Harbor could use Waymo if they were being picked up from the 24th or 44th Street SkyTrain stations, or if they were being picked up at terminals between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.

Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego celebrated the announcement by taking her very first Waymo ride ever to the airport. In a video she posted on "X," formerly known as Twitter, Gallego can be seen taking the Waymo to the terminal.

"Sky Harbor and Waymo continue to innovate to provide you with great travel options," Gallego said in the video. "We hope you'll get a chance to try it out."
