Westbound lanes of U.S. 60 reopen in the East Valley after crash

The crash, which injured at least one person, happened near Superstition Springs Boulevard. The freeway was closed at Power Road. Here are the latest details.

MESA, Ariz. — A crash on Friday evening caused a major backup on U.S. 60 in Mesa, after police closed the freeway. 

The crash happened in the westbound lanes of U.S. 60 at Superstition Springs Boulevard in Mesa. The Arizona Department of Transportation says they closed the freeway at Power Road at about 6:45 p.m. on Friday. The freeway reopened at about 10 p.m.   

The eastbound lanes of the freeway were not affected. 

The Arizona Department of Public Safety says multiple vehicles were involved in the crash and there are injuries, but did not release any other details.
