2 teens seriously hurt after crash in Pinal County

The crash happened on Saturday morning at the intersection of Highway 287 and Nafziger Road in Coolidge. Here are the latest details.

COOLIDGE, Ariz. — A 15-year-old girl is fighting for her life and a 17-year-old boy has serious injuries after a crash in Coolidge, according to the Pinal County Sheriff's Office.

PCSO told 12News that deputies were called to the intersection of Nafziger Road and State Route 287, also known as the Florence Coolidge Highway, at about 8 a.m. on Saturday due to a single-vehicle crash. 

Witnesses told deputies they had seen the car driving recklessly before the driver lost control of the car and it rolled over several times. 

The two people in the car, a 17-year-old boy and a 15-year-old girl, were ejected, seriously injured and airlifted to the hospital. The girl is currently in critical condition. 

The 17-year-old boy was driving the car and the 15-year-old girl was a passenger. 

PCSO said speed and impairment are being investigated as factors in this crash. 

No other details were released.
